Hendrik Jordaan

PRESIDENT & CEO

Hendrik Jordaan was born and raised in South Africa. He co-founded 1K Africa and was instrumental in designing the firm’s structure, investment approach and strategy. As president and CEO, he chairs 1K Africa’s Investment Committee and oversees Investor Relations. Before co-founding 1K Africa, Mr. Jordaan was the Global Chair of the Private Equity Investments and Buyout Practice of Morrison and Foerster LLP. He has over 20 years of experience in private equity, M&A and complex cross-border financing.

1K Africa is founded on three pillars: Families, Capital and Prosperity. With its limited partners comprised of leading families, the fund seeks to invest in family businesses on sub-Saharan Africa. The fund invests in all aspects of Capital. With offices in Denver, Colorado, South Africa and Mauritius, the fund has investments across the Fintech, Edtech, Regtech, Agribusiness and Consumer industries. The fund’s investments have created or sustained thousands of jobs and contributed to the financial well-being of tens of thousands of individuals across Africa.
